More than half of registered Democrats think that Hillary Clinton should be on the ticket in November. According to a CNN poll, 54 percent want this “dream ticket” though I’ve personally heard many, many people say quite the opposite.

Additionally 60 percent of women want her on the ticket, as opposed to 46 percent of men.

And the party poopers, of course, have their say in it: a quarter of those polled say that if Obama names someone else as his vice president, Clinton should try to override that descision at the freaking convention… fantastic for party unity.

“Democrats would like Barack Obama to choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate, but they seem to recognize that it is his choice to make,” said Keating Holland CNN polling director. “Some will be disappointed if Obama does not pick Clinton, but not disappointed enough to want a floor fight at the convention.”

CNN spotted a few people other than Sen. Clinton who could finish the ticket. A lot of their choices are past their prime, and probably would not be a good pairing with Obama’s style of leadership.
