Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is just the gift that keeps on giving. Her pick for the new Attorney General of Alaska — the state’s top lawyer, given the task of enforcing the law — is, as expected, freaking creepy.
Wayne Anthony Ross is a prominent attorney, and has represented many of the members of the organization Dads Against Discrimination (now known as the Alaska Family Support Group). This group is a bunch of guys basically trying to avoid paying child support. Real classy.
Addressing the group in the early 1990s in a Denny’s (where else, right?!), he pulled out a couple of these doozies:
“If a guy can’t rape his wife…who’s he gonna rape?” and “There wouldn’t be an issue with domestic violence if women would learn to keep their mouths shut.”
(You can read the full testimony by citizen activist Leah Burton here)
Also, Ross has used language like “degenerate” or “immoral” to describe gays, though he’s still described by peers and adversaries as having integrity.
Yup, that’s the guy I want enforcing laws that are supposed to protect me — confirm him ASAP!! Especially because it turns out that this guy is a prolific writer. Some choice headlines from old op-eds he wrote for the Anchorage Daily News and the Anchorage Times :
- “KKK ‘ Art’ Project Gets’ A’ For Courage”, The Anchorage Times, December 1991.
- ” Animal Activists Real Enemy”, The Anchorage Times, 2 December 1990.
- “Hunters In Danger Of Losing All Hunting Rights”, The Anchorage Times, 28 January 1990. (Ed. Note: I bet that wasn’t true at ALL)
- “False Reports Of Child Sexual Abuse Devastate Families And Children”, The Anchorage Times, 28 July 1991; Speak Out For Families, December 1993.
You get the idea. He’s a real winner

Do you know of anyone specific that WAR represented in the DADS group? That is an important link that will tumble his house of cards because he claims not to even know them. I need others to come forward and verify that he can be connected to bolster my testimony…
Thank you!

Hey Leah
I don’t know anyone specific. It makes me wonder if the state bar association would have anything? I’m going to do a little more digging.
I wonder if the name change to Alaska Family Support Group has anything to do with any of that…
Anyway, thanks for reaching out Leah!

Palin is batting 1000…wow, amazing. Pack it in, mam.
I am astonished that the TEAMSARAH´s just go right on with hollow cheerleading.
