Former Senator John Edwards has admitted to having an affair while on the campaign trail… while his wife is dealing with an incurable form of cancer. According to ABC News, which will air an interview with Edwards tonight. How’s that for Olympics competition. The woman involved, Rielle Hunter, was hired by him to make short documentaries about the campaign. The National Enquirer broke the story, which is why most mainstream media was like, “yeah, right.” When they tried to peg the Edwards as the father of her child, a former campaign aide, Andrew Young, claimed that he was the father instead. Classy.
This makes me mad because I had hoped that his fieriness and passion would translate as U.S. Attorney General for the Obama administration. It would have been like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington… and he’s cute. But now he’s a dirbag, and a lot of people are real disappointed with him. I defended him through his $400 haircut. But now, I’m feeling gypped.
And I feel really, really bad about Elizabeth Edwards. I remember early in the campaign, we wanted her to run more than John. At the magazine I work at, we did a cute little profile with her, and basically fawned over how cool, and smart and beautiful she is. She’s an awesome lady and I hope she and the fam do well.

Even in gest referring to a woman a baby mama is offensive. As for Edwards she didn’t ask for sympathy she asked for people to mind their own business and stop sensationalizing the issue.
