Here are a few things to look forward to this month, including Madge, Mrs. Vain, a little one, and a dead guy.

Madonna Hard Candy, April 29
THE Material Girl is back (well, it kinda feels like she never went anywhere). Her newest album Hard Candy is gonna be the hotness, filled with tons of songs to party to and give your friends lap dances. You can download the video on iTunes… or keep checking YouTube every 15 minutes to see if someone uploaded it and it hasn’t been taken down yet… And let’s face it, if there’s one artist who consistently turns out music videos worth watching, it’s Madge.

Carly Simon, This Kind of Love, April 29
No matter who you are, and what kind of music you listen to, you have to give props to Carly Simon’s work. She’s one of the most respected singer/songwriters out there, and penned one of the hottest I’m-a-pissed-off-woman-because-you’re-a-douchebag songs, “You’re So Vain,” which was wayyy better than Janet’s take on the hook a few years ago.

Portishead, Third April 29
Portishead is the epitome of trip-hop. The group is releasing a box set this month with a bunch of old and new stuff. If you haven’t already downloaded the leaked tracks earlier this year, relive whatever you were doing in 1999, pop some E and take a listen.

Lil Mama, VYP: Voice of the Young People, April 29
Let’s say you’re a fan of America’s Best Dance Crew. And you like Lil Mama. And, for some reason, you like Chris Brown and T-Pain. And you’ve seen the Shawty Get Loose video (Ed. Note: I will only spell “shawty” if it’s a proper noun…). Just admit you’re going to buy the album for the oh-so-fierce Lil Mama.
Armegeggon in Retrospect by Kurt Vonnegut
To be published on the 1 year anniversary of Vonnegut’s death, this book is a collection of unpublished works on war and peace. If there’s a contemporary author who is great at these issues, it’s this (dead) guy.
Smart People, April 11
Two actresses that are neat for two entirely different reasons — Sarah Jessica Parker and Ellen Page — star in a movie together, which was apparently a big hit at Sundance this year (but sometimes, that doesn’t mean anything). SJP is dating EP’s dad, played by Dennis Quaid.
Kiss the Bride, April 18
Basically kind of like My Best Friend’s Wedding, but more gay. And Tori Spelling. (Thusly, completely optional).
Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden, April 18
Oh, Morgan Spurlock. First, you solidified our belief that McDonalds is grosssss. Then, you submitted yourself to 30-day experiments for our pleasure. Now, you’ve taken on Osama bin Laden, busting into the Middle East to find everyone’s favorite terrorist mastermind.
The Life Before Her Eyes, April 18
Uma Thurman stars in a thriller/ drama. She’s living the boring suburban life when she starts to get flashbacks of a killing spree that went down when she was in high school. Of course, this ends up making her go a little nutso.
